Scotphos was established over forty years ago and is now used by thousands of farmers across Britain and Ireland who appreciate the benefits of maintaining soil fertility, including: maximising uptake of nitrogen, replenishing soil reserves of P, K, calcium and magnesium and maintaining optimum soil pH and soil structure.

What was historically achieved with Basic Slag and lime can now be attained through the regular use of Scotphos.

Carrs Fertilisers have advanced the understanding of Gafsa RPR based fertilisers and how they work through trials and collaborative research links with Dr. Bert Quin, General Manager of Summit-Quinphos (New Zealand) Ltd. Dr. Quin, formerly Chief Scientist for Soil Fertility with MAFF, New Zealand is a leading proponent of Gafsa RPR based fertilisers.

The key scientific and agronomic points relating to Gafsa RPR are summarised on the following pages by way of background to Scotphos.
